For financial advisors
2.79 million federal employees. Almost no advisors trained to serve them. FedEd Academy™ teaches the system. RFBS™ earns the credential.
Why this market
The federal civilian workforce, plus USPS and the uniformed services, is the largest employment category in the United States. Above-median household income. Defined-benefit pensions. Generous health benefits. Retention rates that routinely exceed 20 years.
And yet fewer than 2% of financial advisors are trained to advise on federal benefits. The system is genuinely different from the private sector: CSRS, FERS, the TSP, FEHB, FEGLI, the WEP and GPO Social Security offsets. Generic advice often misses the specific levers a federal employee actually has.
FEBA exists to close that gap — independent, non-commercial, and built specifically for the federal market.

Two programs. One pathway.
FedEd Academy™ teaches the federal benefits system. The RFBS™ designation is what you earn when you complete the curriculum and demonstrate mastery.
Training program
Learn the federal benefits system.
A 3-day virtual or 2-day in-person curriculum covering FERS, TSP, FEHB, FEGLI, Social Security coordination, and special provisions. 11 hours of CFP® CE credits.
The designation

What’s in the curriculum
FedEd Academy™ doesn’t just teach the federal benefits system — it gives you the tools to find, serve, and grow federal-employee clients.
Sent two weeks before the session. Get oriented to the federal benefits landscape before day one.
A printed reference for every topic covered, kept and used after the class.
How to find, prospect, and convert federal-employee clients — without sounding like every other advisor.
A federal-specific retirement income calculator. Run real projections for FERS and CSRS clients.
Handouts, sample client letters, OPM reference docs, and update memos — searchable and current.
Demonstrate mastery of the material. Required for the RFBS℠ designation.
Approved continuing education from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

RFBS℠ designees complete the full FedEd Academy™ curriculum and pass an exam. It’s not a pay-for-badge credential — it’s earned.
CE every two years keeps the designation active. OPM policy changes, new Open Season rules, and legislative updates are integrated into the recertification.
The RFBS℠ public directory doesn’t sell leads or rank specialists by referral fees. Customers find specialists by specialty and location — that’s it.
